Iva Query
1 Answers
My other half has been in an IVA for a year now and updated his income and expenditure sheet as requested.
He’s had a pay rise and it was my understanding that he’s meant to pay half of the extra he gets to the IVA (he comes out with £125 more a month).
He’s also been doing some overtime because of a big project at work but that’s not ongoing and will stop soon. He only does overtime when it’s needed, not on a regular basis.
IVA people rang him this morning to say (1) they couldn’t see he’d updated his info or supplied bank statements (he did - I did it via their portal and can see it’s updated) plus they said he should be paying over £800 a month now! He literally couldn’t afford to live if he paid that!
I’ll be with him when they phone back later but just wanted to check if my understanding was right re pay increases. Not sure how it works with overtime but if it’s not every month, how do they work out what they should be taking from you?
