when looking at share price are they in pence?

Is 140.64 £1.40 or £14.06

On the London stock exchange, the prices are in pence.

They are in pence to 1/100th of a pence.

yes, the price are in pence. GBP stands for Great British "Pounds" (sterling), so to differentiate (because the word PENCE also starts with  P, it's changed to GBX (meaning Great British Pence). They used to be known as Penny Shares.

I got myself mightily confused.

Some were 3209.65 and some 140.65 and many in-between. Luckily I've got probate so don't need to worry too much.

so £32.10p per share, and £1.41 per share. (times how many shares were held.

(if the number after the "point" is 5 or more, it's rounded up to the next penny). Hope this makes sense.
