Retro Foods Making A Come Back

I have recently been involved in a major accident on the day I purchased my new car.
I was under the impression that the vehicle had road tax till mid january, which infact ran out 12/05. Will this invalidate my insurance? I know a lack of MOT would do this, but I'm unsure on Road tax vs insurance...

So if you tax it now will it run out at the end of December 06, or January 07? I don't know the answer but if it is Dec. 06 then could you argue (if it is queried)that you have paid the tax for the whole of Jan. 06 - albeit paying it a bit late?
I don't know whether this would work but agree with previous posts that you should tax it now. If you then scrap it you can apply for refund later.
