I can't remember what the investment limit was in 1956, nor how it has increased over the years to the current £50k.

Can anyone help?

Thanks, ladybirder, I did read earlier but it doesn't answer my question. although a link to the BBC news website does tell me the limit rose from £40K in 2015.

According to the following link the maximum investment in 1956 was £500:

That was a lot of money then.

You may also find these facts about Premium Bonds interesting, but I don't think it incudes how the limit has increased over time:

Had another good month with the PBs - 8 prizes - I'm on a roll!😁💰

Just £50 this month.

I read the 65 facts - I would ask "What is the most number of prizes won by a bond holder in a single month?"

Question Author

Thanks all, I'm hoping for an increase in the limit.

None of us rarely go a month without winning.

I think I know what you mean barry. 🙄

barry - don't you mean all  of us rarely go a month without winning?

Question Author

Yes, teacher

I got nothing this month! Fully invested, and zilch.

have any of you had a big prize?

Question Author

A big enough prize, still waiting for the million.

A colleague of mine won the top prize twenty odd years ago

many years invested - my top prize has been £500

Many years fully invested best £500. Just cashed in 20,000. I still won £75. My wife won £1,000 once quite a while ago.
