Turning off unwanted calls from Financial Advisors
3 Answers
About 3 years ago I innocently asked for a free copy of a research paper on a Company I was thinking of investing in from a broker called Pacific. Stupidly I gave them me mobile phone number as a contact point but I have never done business with them. Despite repeated requests they simply don't take me off their database and every 6 weeks or so I get a phone call from a different Advisor. Is there an equivalent of the Mail Preference Service to get rid of these people that verge on nuisance calls?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You can put your number on the tps register - www.tpsonline.org.uk . You can also ask to be put on their (Pacific's) Do Not Call register. It is an offense to be called once you have requested not to be called.
If you have done this, then contact the information commissioner to complain and take things further.
