Finding a company that may no longer exist?

We're about to make a claim that we were mis sold our endowment mortgage a few year back. however, I think that the company who sold us it may no longer exist. how do I check this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks xx

If it is a limited company, try searching on companies house (don't forget to search under previous names and dissolved comanies as well)

Just submit your letter of appeal to whoever holds the endowment policy at the moment. They will then take it from there.

Hi - The FSA have a very useful leaflet on endowments called - 'Your Mortgage Endowment'... In it it states if you cant trace the company then you can call their helpline on 0845 606 1234... or go to FSA Firm Check Service www.fsa.gov.uk/consumer ... If the company has gone bust then contact Financial Services Compensation Scheme 020 7892 7300 or www.fscs.org.uk - Hope this helps.
