remortgage and ex partner

i remortgaged my property with my then partner once we remortgaged he stated he remortgaged with me to just get his name on the mortgage so that he has calaterial. He has never paid towards the mortgage and i have evidence that i have been paying the mortgage each month since the remortgage he has left the property the lenders are willing to have the property transferred solely into my name, is this possible to be done without his consent

I hate to say this but it rather sounds as if you've been conned and I fear you may not be able to get his name off the mortgage without his consent. Please book yourself an appointment with a solicitor as quickly as possible.

Just to make it clear here, is he on the mortgage and on the title deeds or just on the mortgage ??
