Tips on improving credit rating

Hi. Anybody got any tips on improving credit rating.

Get a home phone, a mortgage, credit card etc. Anything that identifies you as a bill payer. 6 months of meeting regular payment commitments will go along way.

What really helped my credit rating was ordering goods on finance for around �1000 and paying it off at 60 pounds a month. I ordered finance goods from Dixons which come with HFC finance and I had a small loan from Black Horse. I didnt miss any payments at all and my credit rating has improved a lot because it was poor(ish) to begin with
