If you buy a house with a partner and only one of you takes out the mortgage, can both of you be on the property deeds?

property deeds are irrelevant these days. You can be joint owners on the land register, however the lender may well object to this scenario.

Absolutely not - you require the permission of the lender to put on or take off anyone off the deeds. And i'm afraid Loosehead that property deeds are not irrelevant these days. They have theri place in black letter law, but obviously do not cirumvent the laws of equity for proprietory rights.
