I have just switched from british gas to npower, I have just recieved my final bills from bg (gas & electric). on both I have a cancellation fee, one for 45 and one for 30. Could someone please tell what this is for as I have changed suppliers previously without this or any other fee.

I have tried phoning bg, but unable to get through.

Did you sign up for the price freeze? If you did, this is the reason for the cancellation fee.

If you didn't sign a contract with a fixed period and can't get sense out of BG, go to Energywatch.
