Just looked at the CH website to see details of a particular company and it says "Next Accounts Due: 30/04/2006 OVERDUE". What accounts have to be submitted and what penalties/problems come about if (as in this case) they are overdue?

Company statutory accounts have to be submitted 9 months and 2 day after a companies year end. A 100 fine will be issued if late and I'm pretty sure there are even more fines after this (none of my clients were ever that late!) Eventually the company will be struck off at companies house.

Late accounts can also cause significant issues with the bank/other creditors ie the withdrawal of loans etc
