no spare wheel

I have just bought a new BMW and noticed their is no spare wheel is this standard, or can i kick up a fuss?

If you have the BMW with the 'run flat' tyres then you have no need for a spare wheel as even if you have a puncture, they will get you home.

Or it may have that silly little spare tyre thing which is limited to 50mph as a spare. Don't see how you can kick up a fuss - it is part of the declared spec. and there is a way to keep you on the moving after a flat by one of these 2 methods.

you mean a brand new one? Is there a place for the spare and it's just missing or does it look like it doesn't need one? what does the handbook say?

My Seat doesn't have a spare, however it came with a repair kit which can seal a repair and get you to a garage.

Used to work for a German car dealership and this question came up all the time!

Apparently the car does not come with a spare tyre but some kind of kit in which it has a glue or patch which you use as a temporary measure! The reason for this is because a spare tyre would take up too much space. I would still ring the dealership though!

This happened to me too with an MG. I was given the choice of a 'space saver' or a spare tyre, and asked for a spare. All I got were a few tools and a tub of foam, which you spray into tyre as a temporary measure if you get a flat. I was quite shocked because a spare tyre seems like a standard thing to me. Apparently this issue is becoming quite common with certain makes of new car, but I'm very surprised its happened to you with a BMW.

I am surprised that there is not a proper tyre. What happens if you have run over a nasty piece of metal which has ripped the tyre rather than having a nail through it? A 'kit' with glue and patches is unlikely to be sufficient to get you back on the road.
