Can anyone offer me any advice of getting a mortgage quickly for a higher multiple of my earnings, say x4 as apposed to salary x 3.5?

Alliance & Leicester & Halifax work off affordability calculators rather than multiples, but the results are nearly always over 4 times. Cheltenham & Gloucester will now use 100% of any regular bonus or overtime if thats a problem.
