Two high ranking Council Officials met with me with regards to their caution held on me for the next five years for failing to inform them of capital increases within the set month of receiving it.
After six months of trying to get them to meet me about evidence I found with regards to their calculations being wrong for three years running and the fact that I did inform them of increases and these letters were in their files prior to my 'interrogation' by their fraud officers, the Council ADMITTED FAULT AND STATED THAT THE CAUTION WILL BE WITHDRAWN BOTH WITH THEMSELVES AND THE D.W.P.
THEY WILL BE SENDING ME A WRITTEN APOLOGY.
We suggested that they should treat their customers as human beings and meet in friendly circumstances to question possible mistakes by both parties instead of treating us as guilty criminals questioned by two fraud offices in a six foot square room and being recorded for possible court evidence.
Yesterday, I proved that Council Officials are NOT GODS after all!
The Ombudsman is now investigating their multitude of human errors.
Do I sue them for libel or claim compensation for the stress and trauma they have put both my wife and I through?

You could just accept they made a mistake and the apology.
I assume its the Local Government Ombudsman looking into it as maladministration. If so, he/she can recommend compensation as part of their decision. I suggest you wait and see what they say.
