Paying the mortgage

My husband and I have been married for 3yrs and together for almost 5. We have a joint mortgage. I am not working and he has a reasonably well paid job. I have a 15yr old daughter. If we were to split up and he moved out would he be legally obliged to pay the mortgage or at least until I got a job. i couldnt afford to stay in the house on my police pension.

Both you and he are legally obliged to pay the mortgage. If one doesn't the mortgage company can pursue the other for the full amount.
