Having recently travelled through Russia I have arrived back in the UK with a few hundred US dollars in cash. Is there a best place to exchange them back into pounds, or do places generally offer the same rate?

The Post Office and M&S are the best easily accessible places to buy $$ - whether that also applies to selling them back I don't know.

Best way of all is if you can find someone going to the US who wants them - come to a deal that saves you both money.
I know a guy (who, incidentally, I met here on AB) who's coming to the UK, from the USA within the next fortnight. I've been keeping an eye on high street dollar-to-pound exchange rates, on his behalf, for quite some time.

Based upon my observations, Marks & Spencer offer the best rates. If your there's not an M&S with exchange facilities in your area, then the Post Office is next best.
