Was wondering if I'm entitled to claim any financial benefit towards my rent?

I'm working full time, but not exactly earning anything huge ( infact far from it is closer to truth ).

I'm also a single male with no children and I'm British.

Thank you maviscoull, I will try them.

Have you had any luck with this kind of thing yourself?
not personally, but i know someone who has ! same situation as you. depends on your wage. but go get the forms as you have nothing to lose.
try the council and social security if your under threshold you are sometimes entitled to help
www.entitledto.co.uk - type your details into this online form and find out!
Get in touch with your local benifits office, also you may be able to claim a council tax rebate, have you claimed for working tax credit, you don"t have to have children to claim it, you have to work at least 30hrs a week
good luck

Depending on your income and rent level you may be able to claim Housing Benefit and Council Tax benefit.

There are quick online calculators available, one here http://www.oxford.gov.uk/housing/tax-benefit-c alculate.cfm so you can get an idea of whether you are entitled to anything.

You can also get free advice on benefits from any Citizen's Advice Bureax, find your local one here www.adviceguide.org.uk

Hope this helps
Also, have a look at this web site http://www.entitledto.co.uk I am told even the officials use it to calculate your entitlement!
