As far as I know, my credit score is fine. My boyfriend's isn't so great at the moment. If we get a joint bank account, will I be affected my his credit, due to having a financial link?

Yes - there will be a financial relationship established atthat point and most financial institutions will take this into ccount when deciding whether to lend to you or to accept youfor a credit card, etc.
Yes it will. It may be wiser to maintain separate accounts.
