Bank charge refunds

I know there has been alot of threads on this but my bank have charged over �400 in charges and i was going to write to them using the consumer action group letter formats.
They wouldnt close my bank account if i write to them would they?

They may well close your account - a lot of banks are doing this and they are within their rights to do so.

I suggest you open another current account first - and then start to recover the charges.
There is no need to move your account though, just keep one in reserve, with a sum of money in it.

It would be at least 8 weeks before you get notice of the closing of the account - and they have to give you 28 days notice.
i think it depends on your bank and how many claims they have had. my account is still ok, but i know of others that have had theirs closed. as ethel suggests open a parachute account just in case.
