i know its a sill question - but is there anyway i can back out of a contract - its an 18 month one - im 7 months into it - but i cant afford it - and it just keeps adding up - they say that i have to pay this and if i cancel it - the charge will be the month fee - so thats the same as having it - can anyone help
Unless they have done anything wrong by not providing the service correctly, then you are stuck in the contract until the end, which is the point of a contract!
You could try and negotiate a cheaper tariff but if they want to say no, they can. They are entitled to charge an early cancellation fee as well.
You can reduce your tarriff after 6 months of having a contract and i think the minimum contract on o2 is about 15 and pay it off monthly untill the 18 months is up. You can use the minutes you get free with the tariff (which are usually off peak on low tarriffs) but make sure you do not go over them. Then in your 17th month make sure you give them a months notice as they will carry on charging you. This is probably the only way.........
