Bankrupts can get a basic account from Nationwide, Co-op or Barclays (assuming no debts to them).
You will be most unlikely to get a full bank account from anyone for years after discharge because the bankruptcy is on your credit record for 6 years.
Barclays can open accounts for people who have experienced bankruptcy. If you go to your local branch, just ask for a cash card leaflet and that will explain everything. All it is, is a basic account for money to go in and money to go out. You can also have direct debits and standing orders. You can have a cash card purely for the atm. You can visit the website on www.barclays.co.uk. Hope this helps x
