credit card number stolen.......again!!

I have just found out my credit card number has been stolen...again.! Had a phone call to say someone has been buying a lot of things on it, and it isnt me.! This is the second time in less than twelve months. What I would like to know is what or how is this happening.Other people I know bank on line,buy online and over the phone and this never happens to them.So everyone out there beware.!! I was so sure I was careful and alwas checked for lock on internet to say it was secure.

It's far more likely for a rogue shop/barman/waiter to skim details from your card than for them to have been stolen on line.

I was a "Card Tart" and had transferred my balance to 0% interest a/c. When I received my new card I destroyed it, within a month I was contacted by the credit card people to say that my card was being used for buying stuff on the nett. As I had never used it the only people who had sight of it was someone reading my details on the nett or the postman or the credit card people themselves. Although cloning is often the case it certainly wasn't in mine.
