How can I make money ?
7 Answers
Without any sarcastic comments, any ideas on an answer to my question?
I am fed up with people boasting about what they've got & can afford & fed up with the likes of me, who has a steady job, but seem to be getting nowhere.
I enquired about getting a mortgage & the answer to that was a joke (80,000). How can I afford anywhere for this amount? Let alone somewhere in my vicinity of S.E. London.
It's so disheartening. All I want is some spare money. How can I do this? I am willing to work hard, but just need an idea. I used to have my own shop, but there again, I found out you need money to take money!
I'M NOT A SCROUNGER, but I'm really fed up with it all. If you have any ideas, without being sarcastic or rude, please can you be helpful to a genuine person, down on her luck??

1) spend less money ... ie look at your outgoings and see where you could make savings
2) earn more money i.e get a second/third job, or get a job that pays more money. what are your talents?
if there was an easy fix, everyone would be doing it .. because lets face it, who wouldn't want more money. If it's any consolation lots of people are in the "can't afford a mortgage on their own" position

hi has,
It does seem so hard for youngsters to get mortgages nowadays, but then again I thought it was going to be impossible when I was much younger. If you live in London, would it be possible for you to buy somewhere in the outskirts where property is much cheaper and commute ? Or even just buy a property elsewhere that needs just a bit of decorating, hang on to it for a few years then sell it for a profit ?
Good luck hun

Thanks you guys, it's nice to get some positive feedback. Like I said, I'm not a scrounger & I'm not looking for people to feel sorry for me, but sometimes I just want to shout.
Silverdaler - I would love to be a "Property Developer" in the future, so maybe I'll do some homework & at least try to get the ball rolling.
I appreciate your time for answering me, thank you.

No one has ever got rich working for someone else except for a few city slickers. You can learn a great deal about wealth creation by watching Alan Sugars The Apprentice.
Money is usually accumulated not by providing a product but by delivering a service. Jobs that people hate to do themselves and willing to hire someone to do it for them

Find out what you are good at and do it, over and over again. Stop bleating about having no money. "Bootstrap" your business. This means, if you cant afford to buy and sell, you will have to sell and buy. Yes its long, yes its hard, yes its difficult, but it is the best possible way to start a business.
If you just want to start a business to make money you are barking up the wrong tree. I once told my Dad that if I was as rich as him I would not work as hard as he does and take more holidays. His response that came like a kick up the ass was "that is probably why the good Lord will make sure we will never be rich"
You need to talk to a good Business Adviser who will hep you explore your talents - they will be there. ou just need to realise that you can do it. You DO NOT NEED MONEY to start a business. If your business idea is good enough - someone will fund it, there are not many stupid people out there that cannot see a good idea. Yes, you may have ytop give up 20% plus, but thats the rule of the jungle I'm afraid - good luck.
..and if you need a good Business Adviser that cares let me know - there are still a few about but the government is fast getting rid of them and replacing them with box tickers
