Student bank account

My daughter starts university in September. Does anyone know what the earliest date is that she can apply for a student bank account? Are there any good offers at the moment with incentives such as free gifts (rail cards etc)? She has accepted her first choice and insurance choice university. Thanks

You can apply anytime but she should really wait till of Aug or September as we normaly dont start offering anything till then like special gifts etc.

Last year we (LloydsTSB) offered a I Pod mini plus the usual interest free overdraft, credit card etc.

Wait and the look at what all the banks offer to see which would be most suitable.
