Just curious but why do people come on here and ask which bank has this sort code????

If you only know the sort code and NOT the actual Bank, then people may ask because if its a different Bank to yours, then the money would take longer to transfer.
If it is the same bank as yours then it is transferred in a quicker time

I've said this before - these people have a hobby similar to trainspotting. They loiter around cashpoint machines collecting discarded bits of paper with different sort codes on for their collection. They always wear jamjar specs, shell suits with the bottoms tucked into their socks, have greasy hair and usually some arresting physical defect. Many have a talent for drooling and pointing at things in the sky. They're completely harmless and eventually move on to other hobbies such as collecting bus tickets or rootling about in skips or bins. If you want to wind one up, next time they ask questions on here, give em a spoof answer, such as "that sort code belongs to Coutts Bank, Buckingham Palace branch." It will send them into a frenzy.
