i need to send an international money order to canada - how and where do i purchase one. urgent

There's no such thing any more (in the UK).

But any bank will sell you a foreign currency cheque, and I think Thos Cook BdeC do them. Just pay them cash over the counter and walk away with it to post

Expect a hefty fee. (�10 to �20)

got a problem then as the seller is in canada and wants �73 not canaiain dollars. not sure about this sale now. would it be ok to send the cash by some other means like ups or similar? heard bad things about purchasing from america etc.
You can send cash by international recorded delivery post - �3.50 plus normal postage I think, maybe a little extra for insurance.

I think this is OK for Canada - for a few countries it isn't.

It boils down to whether you trust him or not. I'm puzzled as to why he wants �� though - that doesn't ring true. Could just be that he knows Canadian international money orders can be cashed in UK post offices and doesn't understand it doesn't work the other way round.
