i run a ltd company,on a recent search i found a company with the same name .i looked on company house website and found out their registed name had east midlands on it ,this was the only difference in the name.we understand this is allowed because of the east midlands bit.i obtained a letterhead from this company and found out there is no east midlands bit on their letterhead.so its the exact same name as mine.iam very corncerned that people may think that this company is a part of our company.if they are cowboys ect surely this could affect my companys good name.please any info ?

A limited company by law must have on its legal documents (letterhead and invoices etc) its full name and company registration number.

If it does not it is breaking Company Law.

Speak to Companies House and report them.

I actually used to work in the field of company registrations a long long time ago, and the answer (and advice given) was true then, and I should imagine true now - a company name is basically private property and one of the reasons why people go limited is for sole use of that name.

Get Companies house involved - they'll sort it.
