you can get tax credits if you are a single parent or have a live in partner that has no more than 16000......i think im right.....if you go to inland revenue web site and put your details through on can i claim it will tell you how much you can get
The �16K ceiling mentioned in the previous post relates to DWP benefits such as Income Support & Housing Benefit.
The rules for Tax Credits are different. There is no savings ceiling at all. What happens is that if your (or your + your partner's) income from your savings (i.e. interest & dividends) total more than �300 pa then it is taken into account as part of your income & reduces the amount of Tax Credit you can get.
