ive never heard of a lodger mortgage.

a buy to let i have but taking someone into your own home shouldnt affect mortgage payments.
Why would you need a mortgage to take in a lodger?
If you can be more specific then people on here will be more able to help you.
Well, I've never heard of a Lodger Mortgage either but I found this....

Get a Lodger Mortgage
It's now possible to get a mortgage which takes account of the expected extra income from a lodger. So even if you don't earn quite enough to manage the mortgage by yourself, it may be feasible with help from a lodger. You can earn up to 4,250 a year under the Inland Revenue's Rent-a-Room scheme without having to pay tax on the income and this extra income might just make the difference when it comes to affordability. If you ask a friend to be your lodger it won't be much different to renting a flat with them. Otherwise, choose your lodger carefully!

And this:

In a bid to capitalise on the burgeoning market for lodgers, mortgage broker John Charcol has launched a new 'rent a room' mortgage. Launched in conjunction with West Bromwich Building Society, the mortgage, fixed for two-years at 5.99%, can take into account as income the 4,250 per year which can be earned tax free under the Government's 'rent a room' scheme.

Here is a link to John Charcoal's website although I can't see anything on there about Lodger Mortgages.

so are you a lodger and you want a mortgage?

well then i suppose that will put you in the same category as a first time buyer, so for most youll require a deposit, and off you go.

It's a mortgage of the type Cheeky Chops describes that I'm after. I know West Brom offer it, just dont' know if they're the only ones.
