Using debit/card on the internet.
17 Answers
Hi- I wonder if anyone could help. Is it normal for an internet site to ask for date of birth, when paying for something, as well as the normal details like address, card details etc. It's just that I've never known it before and I'm a bit wary of doing so because of all the id frauds etc. I thought someone on here would know for certain.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I wouldn't trust them! And as somebody posted, padlocks on the pictures do not mean anything.
I saw Watchdog the other day and they said anyone can set up a website and start selling things. There is nobody in this country that governs it. There are loads of dodgy website that pretend to sell things and take the money but do not send the goods.

Not quite sure of that one mumof3 angels but trust your instinks if it does not seem right dont do it.
The only time I have been asked my dob is when you phone up your credit card company or debit card company I have never heard of them asking for it when you pay for something.
And to be honest the more that I think about this as I am typing the more I think that it is a scam.
So my advise is stay clear.
