You can't take somebody to court for 20.

But even if you could, and you won, it doesn't mean you'd get your money back easily.

It is an order to pay, not a payment.
You can go to the Small Claims Court, to sue for sums up to and including 5000, but to lodge the case it cost about 130 then to file documents with the court, it's an additional 100.

That would be alot of money to sue for only 20 and also the judge might be so irritated by the case, deeming it as petty, he might favour of the defendant, so not only would you lose over 200 lodging the case, you'd lose your 20 too.

Just put it down to experience and don't lend money again.
Those are gross exaggerations of the costs involved in the small claims court - for a start to lodge the case costs 30 - or 25 if done online.

But it's still really not worth the bother.

I would sell the debt to someone and let them go and chase it up - they will add on the interest for wasting time x
Have you asked for the money? I'd send a letter to the person saying that they have 10 days to pay after such time you will be apply to the court which could result in a CCJ, them having to pay costs and destroying their credit rating.

That might spur them on to actually pay the money. Then again it might not.
A debt for 20 quid?

Burger me let it go lol
Sell a 20 quid to an agency lol

You'd be lucky to get a fiver plus you would have to prove you had an agreement that had not been honoured
they'd laugh at you. Would cost you more in court fees, just leave it
I really would just let it go and put it down to experience he will get his Karma and all that x
