diffrent rate of pay

i have changed positions with my employer and have just been given and signed a diffrent contract, however after i posted their copy to them i noticed that mine had a higher hourly rate on than what we are supposed to receive, so my question is, is this legally binding or can they turn round and say it was a typing error and pay me what the others receive.

Unlike others who post on here with questions about what the position is when they have been paid extra in error (versus what their contract terms say), your situation is different.
There's no reason why you should know you are being paid too much (not everyone talks to their mates about their own pay) so I don't see why you need to mention it.
If it isn't much money, if/when the company realise, they will problemly want to change the rate - but not retrospectively back to the original date.
