Changing banks - direct debits
7 Answers
Hi - can anyone tell me if they know what (if any) banks will re-do all your direct debits for you if you change your current account over to them? I want to change banks but am too lazy to change all my direct debits myself! Cheers

Here's what you do, open the new account and set up a standing order to pay the total of your dd's to the old account. That way any money left after your SO has gone from your new account you can spend. The old bank does all the work and get's no dosh! tada!

If your old bank charges for DD's then you need to be careful doing it the way suggested above or you may end up with overdraft charges at your old bank because of their DD transfer charges being taken out of your account.
Your new bank should move all the DDs for you and let you know when its done. Just keep an eye on it is all.
