I have a C.C.J which has been added to the value of my property. Does this mean i just pay that amount or can they add interest and can they (as asked) ask me to increase the monthly payment so that they stop interest on the amount owed?
Of course if they didn't charge interest they could be waiting many many years for the house to be sold. 10000 now will be worth about 50 in 50 years time. :)
If they are asking you to increase monthly payments and saying that if you do they will stop adding interest then it is almost certainly to your benefit to pay what they ask if you can. But make sure you get this in writing.
If the CCJ was for less than 5000 then I don't think they can add the 8% court rate of interest, but am not certain about this.
