This is the form of letter you should use:
RIGHT OF APPROPRIATION
Dear Sir/Madam,
ACCOUNT NUMBER: xxxxxxxxx
I am writing to inform you that I am due to have a Tax Credit payment of xxx paid into my account on xx/xx/xx, and I wish to use my first right of appropriation for this money, for the following purposes;
Rent xx
Utilities bills xx
Housekeeping money xx
I will withdraw the money on the day that it is deposited for the above use, and I would be grateful if you would ensure that any other payments out of my account do not interfere with this withdrawal.
Yours faithfully,
[signature]
[print name)
And you have to do this each and every time you are likely to incur charges BEFORE the money is paid in.
However, it is unlikely the bank will support you forever and would be within their rights to close your account if you cannot come to an agreement to repay the money.

hate lloyds tsb so bad,they obviously have the contract for the banking of people on the dole,my son was on it and it meant he could only draw his money out at one hole in the wall, but when he got a job i advised him to get a normal visa card over the phone,because he couldnt go to the bank due to his working hours even works saturday morning,they refused him upgrading over the phone how daft is that, they said he would have to go into his local branch and upgrade, if thats the case whats the point in phone banking or online banking!!!

An overdraft is an agreement with your bank, your overdraft wont just be cancelled for the sake of it. Are you sure you have been sticking to your part of the agreement? staying in your limits? if you have not then you have broken your part of the overdraft agreement and the bank has every right to cancell your overdraft limit.

your comment of 'hate lloyds tsb so bad' is so mature! with reagrds to your son having a debit card (visa) your son was given an account by the bank, its their choice who they give what to, if your son has had the account for a while with little money going into it, why should they now give him a visa card? just because he now has a job? banking facilities are not a god given right, you have to earn them. Im sure that if they had given him a loan, overdraft and spent it all and got himself into trouble you would still moan that they should nover of given him anything!
