On the subject of student loan deferrals...

I live overseas in a country substantially poorer than the UK and I don't even earn 14,000 Euros. Am I entitled to defer my Student Loan? I have been told that nobody has to pay back a Student Loan until the earn �15,000 is this true or urban myth? I graduated in 2005. Any info kindly appreciated....

This is how the repayment system operates - both in the UK and overseas.

Note that interest adds to the loan. The interest is broadly the same as price inflation (well the Government's version of that figure).
