Hello, I fed my credit card into an ATM a few weeks ago. My card was returned to me, but no money. The relevant bank said they checked the machine, and said the total balanced, so I am down by that amount of money. I know I didn't receive it, and feel as though I should pursue the matter, but not sure what to do next. Any advice please?

Speak to your Credit Card Company and they should put a claim in on your behalf. Tell them where the machine is situated, the date and roughly what time it happened at.

This happened to me a few weeks ago and got my money refunded within two weeks (it can take up to four weeks).

Hope this helps.

Thank you Fadeout, but , unfortunately the card is actually a debit card, issued to me by the bank that has just debitted my account with the said sum of money. So I assume the situation is abit more complicated? Marymint.
You've confused us by saying you fed your credit card...

You should have reported it to your bank straight away. However, contact them now and explain what happened, although after this time it is difficult to know what they can do.

Sorry for the confusion. I did report it to my bank immediately - they are the ones who debitted my account after the ATM was investigated by the bank who owned the ATM. Marymint.
Mary,

It was my Visa Electron (Halifax) it happened with. I checked through internet banking my recent transactions to see if it had been debited before i kicked up a fuss. I went to my local Halifax who then put the claim through.

Speak to the card issuer (your bank).

Fade,
Many thanks for your advice - looks as though I could be re-imbursed after paying the bank a visit yesterday, but don't think I'll be using that particular atm again!
