I want to travel the world for 1 yr or 2, however I could easily stay to set up my business- some think I'm crazy, others think its a wicked idea. Then I tel them i don't actually have the money cash in my pocket and it would involve raing additional funds out of my BTL. Here is the dilemma: travel around, spending out of my nest egg, come back and potentially ( infact most definitely) will be broke OR stay miserable in London, try set up businesss with the money I would have used to go on my RTW trip THEN having started business, would have no free time to travel for the next 3-4 yrs and get even more miserable! Do I think with my heart or my head, financial or spiritual...............................oh decisions decisions decisions............ And I am 25 so I think, travel now, while ur still fit and able, the longer I leave it the more miserable I will be OR start business now- the longer I leave it, the poorer I will be when I hit the big 3 0. PPLLLLLeeeassssee help! Thanks.x.

Why not go around the world for one year backpacking. You can earn money as you go and get an insight into the real culture of the country. This is a cheap option and you shouldn't need to spend much from your BTL (whatever that is). But you have the backup in an emergency. Come back and start your business when you are 26
Who says that any business you start will succeed ?
In your situation I would work abroad for a year (make sure you find and have conformation that you have the job whilest in the UK for minimum hastle and wasted time). Then I would take half my years pay money to spend on a round the world trip and use the other half the following year for the enterprise...sorted!

Thanks norfolk boy for that pessemistic response! Thanks every1 else for a little more clarity. I have worked abroad b4, don't want to do it again as I want more freedom to go where and when I please. I am a fashion designer so think that getting more info on different cultures (from a creative perspective) could only be beneficial. Oneeyedvic- BTL= Buy to Let. I think I will do the backpacking thing and spend only a little out of my BTL- less than I originally thought, maybe travel for 6-8 months instead. Thanks again
No problems, good luck and send us a postcard (if you can afford it)
Go and have fun! My husband and I are thinking of selling up and using the money we've made on our house to pay our way through uni because we never got to go (I'm 24 and he's 31). I think if you don't take the chance to do what you really want you'll regret it.
If I lived in London ( thankfully I don't ) then i would go on the world trip, find somewhere you like in the EU and start workin towards your own business there. Life is too short to pass up opportunities, go for it.
