I have just recieved a check through the post (with correct address ) to myself, from the Halifax, for a large sum of money, my problem is this....I have no idea who this is from, the sender is a name I dont know, never heard of them....there was no letter , nothing but the check, and I cant make out the postal stamp.....is this a scam, what do I do...????
any branch can tell you from the sort code which is the issuing bank im sure
I wouldnt want involved in anything by banking it, could be money laundering? check it out - it could be for real !
ask at your branch and see what they suggest
Good advice weeal, my other problem, is I live in Spain, so popping into the local Halifax isnt an option, thats what makes this so weird, it was posted from the UK, to my correct name and correct address, posted with an 50pence stamp, I worried about it, I dont know how money laundering works...
Yes I think I will weeal, whoever would have thought getting a check would be such a worry.....crazy or what, no-one sends a check to someone they dont know....this just dosnt make any sense.....
