I have been asked to be treasurer of a new small local society and have to open a bank account. Does anyone have any recommendations of a suitable bank/building society that is friendly to such accounts ie small transactions and no or very low charges. Thanks

With the current financial climate you are going to have tread v carefully, we use RBS for our club but I use Alliance and Leicester for my business, their charges are quite low but not free.
