My husband and myself own a property as joint tenants in common. I want to transfer my share to him which I understand is exempt from stamp duty. On the "Transfer of whole of registered title (TR1), dealing with stamp duty, I am asked to place an "X" in the box and I believe it is the first box I need but I do not know what to put in the category box? Can anyone help? Is there a goodhearted solicitor out there? We are pensioners and solicitors costs are too high for us. We are after all only transferring from one of us to the other.
