my credit was fine up until one year ago, i had made a payment late and iam now blacklisted. however myself and my partner would like to apply for a morgage, is their any way this would be possible?

You will not be blacklisted as there is no such thing.

I suggest you get a copy of your credit report - experian - 0870 241 6212 and Equifax - 0870 010 0583. They cost �2 each (plus processing fee). You may have a default registered which can impair your rating.

Every lender has different criteria - go to a mortgage broker (who should not charge you anything - he gets paid by the lender) and explain to him your previous problem - he will tell you which lender would be more sympathetic.

There are many lenders ranging from prime through to adverse. You should still be able to get a mortgage without a problem though you may pay a slightly higher rate
