On bank bags, where it says 5 in 10p or 5p, can you mix them? or is it 5 in 10p only, or 5 in 5p only?

No you can't mix them, they use scales usually and these won't work with different coins in.

thankyou :)
No, cos the bags are weighed I think, and if you mix it mucks up theweight. Mind you, I have not been in a bank for years.
when you go to pay them in make sure you have a few spares in your pocket. 9 times out of 10 the bank have claimed mine to be short and yet i check them.
5p and 10p coins will come out the same weight/value when mixed - as wiil 1p/2p.

But banks still don't like you mixing them when paying in.
No don't mix them - it just means that the cashier has to sort them out and make them into bags of 5 of 10p and 5 of 5p. They then keep them in cloth bags, one for 5p and one for 10p to give out as change to other customers, and hardly ever does someone come in asking for a bag of mixed change!
It usually says on the bag 'No Mixed Coins',well it does on the bags I use.
