When purchasing land to build a home in Ireland (first time buyer with the land costing 85,000 euro) - is the stamp duty a one-time cost? or something that must be paid monthly or annually? and if so, for how long?

I think it's a once-off payment but you need to speak to a solicitor.  Your status as a first time buyer may mean that you don't have to pay stamp duty.

Monthly, for five years I thought.
