All I can say is call literally EVERY company - very boring but very worth it. I am 31 with full no claims, and every year when my renewal is near I call up loads of companies. I just get to the point where everyone is quoting almost the same (around 300 last year) when someone quotes well below that).
Hope that helps
You won't find cheap car insurance - you are 18 and therefore you cost the insurance companies the most in claims: unfortunately, no matter how good a driver you may be, your age group are, statistically, poor drivers.
Just be thankful you are not male: personally, I don't think young men should be allowed to drive until they are at least 21 - young men are too immature to be in control of a vehicle.
Hi nicnicnic.
I'm a 20 year old male and my insurance premiums are even worse! For Third Party, Fire & Theft I've been quoted 1100 on a S Reg Clio. Being a young male driver, apparantly I'm a "boy racer"!
I managed to get Fully Comprehensive insurance from the Halifax for 1380. An extra 200 quid, but if I have an accident that is my fault, at least I'm covered. Give them a try. Also, have you tried the female only insurance groups? I have no idea what they are called but there is one exclusively for woman drivers.
Re: flanker's comments: I think you're a very rude, judgemental person to think that every male under the age of 21 are too irresponsible to drive. I have no interest in 'wheelspins', no interest in buying 'phat speakers with pumpin bass', and certainly no intention of drag racing other boyracers in supermarket car parks at 1am.
I just want the opportunity to drive myself safely from one destination to the other without being tarred with the same "boyracer" brush.
