My female friend is divorced and turned 60 on 22 March 2009. She receives tax credits and these are included in her pension that she receives on a Monday. The total amount she is receiving is �101. I have read on Directgov - she should be receiving �130 the minimum rate give to anybody

Minimum state pension is �95.00 per week....
WIth pension credit the minimum is �130 a week for 2009/10

However the amount may be reduced if your friend has savings and any private pension income

thanks for your answers and by the way I should have said pension credits - no she has not a halfpenny in the bank - believe me. She is going to ring Pension office this am. Thanks again for your answers.

Hi - just letting you know that my friend made a big mistake. She is receiving �130. She got a full statement from her bank and found she receives 2 monies separately of course making it up to �130. She just took a fixation that she was receiving �101. Thanks for all your help.
