selling goods via website - how to arrange payment?

I would like to sell some low-cost items via my website (nothing of more than about a tenner in price). However, I have no idea on the best way to deal with ways of payment.
I don't like the idea of putting my bank account information uo there for all to see. I have a paypal account but not yet used it. maybe someone who has experience of this sort of thing could advise me....cheers

The law requires that all UK websites offering goods for sale must provide a postal address (for the return of faulty goods). So you'll have to put your address (or another other contact address, such as a PO box) on your website. Given that, you might want to accept cheques and/or postal orders. Otherwise the only method of payment which will be acceptable to most potential customers is PayPal.
