Bought two vanilla visa gift cards each $100 from duane reade and I cannot use them.?

This is the problem on my receipt it says card activated, however when I went back to duane reade
they said the numbers on the cards i bought did not match the numbers on the receipt , can you believe this. I paid $210 dollars cash and they are saying basically that the cards I have are not activated because they do not match the number on receipt!!!! they will not refund or activate the cards and of course visa people are not helping me, they are saying to deal with the store! PLEASE HELP what can I do about this, why when they scanned my two cards two different card numbers appeared on my receipt is duane reade scamming me or vanilla visa??? what can I do to resolve this???? any advice greatly appreciated
