They won't issue us with it until i re-new my claim.. A bit anoying really as i have given them the correct amounts for myself and my partners earnings for this year. Why do they do this? Its £700 we're waiting for.

Do they have the right to hold it?

I have tried to re-new my claim for this year, but they're saying there's a new thing in place, where i have to wait for the re-newal form to be issued...

It seems pretty self explanatory. You have to renew your claim when they issue you with a renewal form. Not sure what the question is here.

My question is there.

Why arent they giving me the money that im entilted to until a re new my claim, when they have the correct earnings for us both?

And why the new procedure? Us having to wait until i receive the renewal pack. Last year i could do it on the phone..
procedures change as timne moves on. How do they know they have the correct details until you fill the form in?

Because i recently gave them our earnings, as i have just started a new job and my partners hours dropped.
1. Yes - they do have the right to hold back part of your entitlement in this way.

2. I think they do it to try to avoid or reduce the size of any overpayment, although how they decide which cases to do it to - or how much to hold back - is a mystery.

3. I am not aware that the renewal procedure has changed. I thought it was always that you had to wait to get the renewal form before renewing - but you could then do it by phone rather than by sending the form back.
