I'm using the above company to go Bankrupt. They are charging me £1200, which i know a few companies do.
They seem keen to get the money, which i suppose is only to be expected.
Anyone heard about them or used them? Or even got any info on them as to whether they're reputable or not.
Thanks

You do NOT have to use them. There are free services out there which can do the same thing for you (it is not really complicated). Either go to your local CAB or call CCCS, or find out from your local authority whether there is any other free debt advice service in your area.
Incidentally, is the £1200 just their fee, or does it include the £150 cost for the Court fee and the £450 for the deposit? Even if it includes them, the remaining £600 is a ridiculously large sum to do what is essentially a pretty straightforward task. (It may not seem such to you, but for people who do it as part of their job it really is!)

Just to add, if you can find £1200 for these people you might find that, once you are bankrupt, you get questions from the Official Receiver about how you raised the money. If you borrow it from friends it could be argued that you obtained credit when you knew you couldn't pay it back (which is an offence) so you would have to make sure the friends knew exactly what you wanted the money for and accepted it. Also, you are not allowed to repay the money while you are bankrupt so they would have to know that as well.
I don't know how bankruptcy works but it does not seem right to me that the creditors lose out on a further £1200 because a debtor pays that to a company to help him/her go bankrupt. If you have £1200 to pay this firm why not use it to pay off some of the debts?
As far as your question is concerned I agree with the other responses. Try CAB or CCCS (but make sure you get ther right one- there is a company that has deliberately chosen a very similar name to CCCS that should be avoided)

It's funny the assumptions that you make based on a few lines of text. I didn't ask you to analyse my personality. If you think it's lazy, then good for you. I asked advice on the bankruptcy being through a company, not your own personal thoughts and feelings.
It's best for me, so keep your cheap thoughts and opinions to yourself.....
Thanks

I did the same through Debt Help Direct and found that it completely took away the stress and pressure of being in debt, It was the best thing I ever did I could finally sleep at night, I just could not face dealing with this all my self and the advisor understood and helped me through the entire process. I went to the CAB and they kept mis advising me and could never speak to them when I needed help with anything. I very much reccommend you get your facts right before jumping to conclusions.
I am thinking about using debt help direct to help me with my bankruptcy also. The paperwork is long and complicated and i want to make sure i get it all correct. I only made the enquiry the other day via their bankruptcyclinic site and i think it is worth paying the extra to get it all done correctly.
